They Talkin: “BACKWARDS” Tame Impala feat. Kendrick Lamar

The Life As Shay Report:

Out of fear that I would reveal myself as the great Kendrick Lamar fan that I am, I decide to refrain from discussing his music and industry moves from time to time. He is “THE GUY” right now and just about everything that he touches turns to gold, so it would be hard not to talk about this game changer when music is the subject. So this time I’m gonna show you what they think. #TheyTalkin. Check out Youtube’s response to Tame Impala and Kendrick Lamar‘s “Backwards” off the soundtrack for the upcoming film, Divergent.

“Kendrick’s ability to switch up his tone and cadence as well as his superior story telling ability are what have pushed him over Em for me. 2pac will always have the streets but Kendrick is just too much… Ever since I heard monster freestyle this dude has been on a crazy run. Torched pass by the West Coast, dropped a classic album and brought back competition to mainstream hip-hop artists. Dont forget that rappers were in an era of barely even mentioning in the way that Em used to… Kendrick hasnt beaten Ems record yet but I think the fact that Kendrick is a sober artist will enhance his longevity. King Kendrick” – james bobbo

“I love kendrick but it feels like hes trying too act to hipster, good rapping tho and lovely course”-ChillingTracks

“I feel like the fame has got to his head. Not entirely but he knows whatever he does people will hop on it. He’s started to try to hard”-TheTNTG

“He’s changing it up but im not feeling it”-Revstarallstar

“Obsessed, this will be on repeat for hours. “- A Free Little Flower

“Epic track #Kendricklamar“-Danny B

  1. a Breath of Fresh Air for Hip Hop… A true Hip Hop artist who isn’t scared to go against the mold of today’s Rap artist. Someone who hasn’t forgot that Hip Hop is a competitive sport and isn’t scared to let the world know that I feel I’m the best and in time I’ll prove it. They say what you believe you have to speak it into existence… And he’s doing just that… #YupYup
