LIVE From the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards: #FIRST OF MANY

The Life As Shay Report:
This past weekend it went down in the ATL. The Atlanta Civic Center hosted the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards on Saturday, September 28, 2013 and the weekend was packed with events, everything from pre-parties, to after parties, Bday Celebrations to gifting suites.
Of all the excitement swirling around the Georgia Peach this past weekend, I had the pleasure of working my#FIRST “TEAL” carpet (sponsored by Sprite) as part of the BET PR Team and I had a blast!!
The weather was cool and fair and once all of  the media outlets got loaded in, the talent started to pour on the carpet like clockwork. The #FIRST person to hit the carpet was Lola Monroe in a patent leather/leather crop and pencil skirt ensemble, looking amazing after having had a baby recently. Great way to start of the carpet if you ask me.

“Stand here, stand here, oh and there…now Follow me” is what I told my clients as we worked the carpet. The carpet was buzzing with great talents from Hip Hopunderground, budding artists and legends. The carpet also had its fair share of actors, comedians and a lone boxer (Pretty Boy Floyd) that all came out to support Hip Hop Music and their favorites in the industry.
Karen Civil– Got a chance to speak with her for a spell.  Her accomplishments inspire me, I was honored.

Eve! Looked amazing, that was my #FIRST time seeing her in person and do you know what I did…I walked across her interview with an outlet AND….WAIT FOR IT….I stepped on her toes at the same damn time! I’m sure she’ll remember me for all the wrong reasons ZAMMNNIT!!! My bad E-V-E.

Future came through tall and inconspicuous, just floating through the carpet and gliding through his interviews like a pro.

Nelly was my most fond memory from the carpet! I think we may have been bestfriends in the past life. He spotted me#FIRST.
Besties or nah? Lol
Charli Baltimore, my goodness! She is what you call “well-kept”, she looks just as amazing as she did 15 years ago but with the freshness in style and grace that makes her just as dope as the newbies.
Tiara Thomas followed on the carpet not too far behind Future and Charli Baltimore (who I so happen to “photobomb” at one point) and she rocked a shiny leather number with matching hoodie and parachute pants, she was…how do I say this, “highly stylized.”
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony came as a group and moved through the carpet as a unit! It was an honor to see these LEGENDS in the flesh. The #FIRST person I saw was Krayzie Bone coming up to the carpet, leading the group as usual! I looked again and they all stood together strong and my mind starts to sing “Bone, Bone, Bone, Bone, Bone tell me whatcha gonna do when it aint no where to hide, judgment comes for you, ‘cause it’s gonna come for you…”

Big Tigger came through shinning bright like a diamond! He was glowing, I need find out what type of moisturizer he is using these days. Good to see him still doing his thing.

The carpet ended with interviews conducted by Tahiry (LHH NY) for Bet.com. The
#FIRST thing you see in approaching the raised interview stage where she stood was her huge, voluptuous ASS-et…which so happen to be her personality! *tehehe*
All that to say, the carpet was amazing things ran smoothly and I had a wonderful experience!
That was my #FIRST OF MANY visits to Atlanta and I could not have asked for a better introduction than participating in the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards.
