Someone name other time that an artist called out every artist that’s “near” they’re level in the game at that moment in time…I’ll wait. We used to address people directly in the 90’s but never the whole laundry list…and for that alone, I MUST WRITE.
Control by Big Sean features Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica…after my first listen, “That ain’t right” is the first thing that came to mind. The level of imbalance on this track is no pink elephant in the room…we’re all addressing it! Social media sites are going crazy…I tried to tell y’all this man KENDRICK LAMAR IS A #BEAST.
Much love, but there is no way that Big Sean and Kendrick recorded during the same studio session for this track. Music is a vibe and a solid flow is contagious, the fire from Kendrick would have been MORE than enough to light up Big Sean’s flow, but uhhh that wasn’t quite the case here…Long story short, they must not have shared space in the creation of this one, just saying. Maybe Jay Electronica caught some of the KENDRICK FADE ’cause his verse stands its own, good job. But to have Kendrick jump on that track and he mangle the situation, shout you out on ya own ish and you still give a sleepy delivery, Big Sean, we have an issue buddy. #SpoiledMilk
The beauty is that each rapper addressed on this track has their own style of rap and singing *Drake* but GREATNESS is still GREAT so ya’ll bests be you y’all toes…especially on ya’ll flows.
I smell a ‘Mixtape’ Fall rapidly approaching. Kendrick has raised the bar and he knows it…he even threw in a line about your grandpa and his arthritis. LAWD! One time for good music, dope flows, creative minds and REAL HIP-HOP.
